About Us:
Sutherland BEN is a non profit organisation servicing the Sutherland Shire, which is part of a national network of organisations working to create partnerships between schools, businesses, community groups and families to address skills needs, assist business achieve sustainability and to support our next generation to realise their full potential.
Our vision is to to foster a strategic, whole of community approach to improving education and transition outcomes for all young people. We believe in the principle that “it takes a village to raise a child” and therefore work closely with the following four key stakeholder groups:
- Education & Training Providers
- Business & Industry
- Parents & Families
- Community Groups
We assist key stakeholders to enter into partnership arrangements that will enrich the learning experience for young people leading to improved levels of participation, engagement and attainment. These partnerships harness resources and build local infrastructure to support communities to share responsibility for young people’s learning and development. Sutherland BEN staff and Board members work with key stakeholders to identify the needs of the Sutherland Shire region, help partners to agree on how they can work together towards a common purpose, and support partnerships to achieve their goals.
